Kech Boutique Hotel & Spa, Marrakesh

The 'upgrade' room overlooked an empty dirt lot at the back of the hotel, sometimes with unpleasant smells like sewage or rotten fish in the corridor and pool area in the late evening. There was enough space for everyone, though. The hotel location was fantastic, close to the Medina and airport but taxis required haggling. The dining experience offered good food choices, especially the omelettes cooked right in front of you.

Upon arriving at 1 am, the hotel was ready for us to check into, though it would have been cheaper without booking in advance. The rooms, while spacious and clean, felt a bit dark and cold lacking a style touch. The service, especially from Jamal at the reception and Chef Nizar, was exceptional. The location was perfect for exploring nearby souks but might not be central enough for everyone's taste.

The hotel rooms around the pool, although located on the side of a busy road, were lovely and clean. The service from security to reception, restaurant, and spa was outstanding, with friendly and helpful staff. The location, while not near much, offered a tranquil setting close to the poolside. The dining options were varied and tasty, including honey-fried square pancakes. The facilities were well-maintained and exceeded expectations for a 4-star hotel.
